HAMIDOU COULIBALY and ANDREW GILBOY have been building small custom houses and investing in Mbour real estate for 20 years. They formed SENEGAL HOME BUILDERS to offer their time-tested expertise to people in North America, Europe, Senegal or anywhere who dream of a house but fear losing their money to dishonest and unreliable builders.
WHAT WE DO
1. Help you select a lot in mbour or nearby areas (Somone, Gandigal, Saly, Nianing, Pointe de Sarene, Mbodiene, etc.)
2. Process all paperwork with local authorities
3. Work with local architect to draft basic house design and floor plan following your design wishes
4. Obtain local building authorizations
5. Build house in 5 phases
6. Maintain regular contact so you follow progress every step of the way - via pictures, WhatsApp, scans, etc.
7. Turn over house at completion and inspection.

The completed house shown at the top was built by Hamidou Coulibaly and Andrew Gilboy. It is a double-family house connected by a courtyard to allow for shared living when desired. Hamidou's side uses a Senegalese-style floor plan for his wife and 4 children, whereas Andy's side is an open American style. The house was finished in 2002. Two major changes were later made: a 2nd floor apartment was added in 2008 and interior changes were made on both sides in 2015 to accommodate our living styles. The picture below is the front yard.
